DynLab is a specialized laboratory of the Institute of Solid Mechanics, Mechatronics and Biomechanics, FME BUT.
The purpose of the DynLab laboratory is primarily research, measurement and simulation of the dynamics of rotating machines and special bearings.
Professional activities focus on computational analysis and measurement of rotor system dynamics. We perform calculations of damped and undamped rotor oscillations and variable stiffness of bearing supports. We also focus on computational modelling and measurement of the static and dynamic performance of special bearings operated with low-viscosity liquids and various gases.
An essential aspect of all DynLab’s activities is the practical applicability of acquired knowledge, know-how and technology. DynLab is a cooperative platform for connecting the education of engineering mechanics with industrial practice in the field of dynamics of rotating machines.
DynLab stimulates the improvement and promotion of pedagogical and research activities through the practical cooperation of students and teachers with representatives of business companies. The aim is to implement industrial contracts and research projects and to create practically oriented study programs.
The laboratory provides facilities equipped with unique test benches and state-of-the-art measuring equipment. DynLab supports the necessary convergence of theoretical and experimental aspects of mechanical engineering studies. This approach leads students to a comprehensive view of solving engineering problems.
By participating in DynLab activities, students will directly interact with industrial partners and cutting-edge rotating machine technologies.
The laboratory has devices for the research of bearings:
Measuring systems with sensors, data acquisition systems for measuring deformation, force, velocity, and acceleration are available not only for the above-mentioned devices. Furthermore, kits for experimental modal analysis, operational modal analysis and analysis of operational modes of oscillations, vibrodiagnostics and sample preparation are available:
